Austin, Texas, February 2003 —
Austin Computing Solutions (ACS) today unveiled eAppsDB, a unique web-based
solution intended to help organizations involved with minors manage
background information for employees and volunteers. ACS developed a similar
online database solution for the Catholic Diocese of Austin, Texas, and has
expanded it into its newest product, eAppsDB.
"eAppsDB is an acronym for electronic applications database", said Teresa
Klepac, President of ACS. "There are countless web sites that offer criminal
background checks to organizations, but eAppsDB is unique in that we offer a
value-added service to an otherwise paper-intensive process. The standard
procedure is to download a paper application for the applicant to fill out,
who then submits it to the organization, who then submits the information to
the background check provider, who then provides information back to the
organization either on paper, or on a web page which is printed and kept in
paper form."
Mrs. Klepac went on to say, "eAppsDB is a 100% electronic based solution
that is centralized through the Internet on our web and database servers.
All of the information, forms, and reports are stored electronically. If a
user wants paper, they can certainly print the information, but I believe
that process is now a thing of the past. eAppsDB is capable of saving
organizations more money than they will have to pay to use the system." |
ACS is targeting its new product
offering to church groups, schools, and youth organizations. The web-based
solution simplifies the tasks of collecting, organizing, and processing
sensitive information so that it can be easily submitted for background
checks and, subsequently, organizational evaluation and approval.
Last fall, ACS signed an agreement with Rapsheets who will provide ACS with access
to their more than 120 Million state and county criminal records. Rapsheets is owned by
Investigation Technologies, LLC, and is the criminal records subsidiary of
The Daily News Publishing Co. of Memphis, Tennessee. Rapsheets.com has
become the most comprehensive site on the Internet in delivering instant
results of criminal records searches.
Austin Computing Solutions is owned and operated by Teresa and Bill Klepac.
The company provides custom turnkey web-based database solutions throughout
the country. In addition to eAppsDB, the company also provides ChurchDB, a
web-based diocesan and parish database management system including modules
for membership, stewardship, education, groups, calendaring, facilities, and
administration.
